Can Assets look up information on any item with a barcode?

Assets works a little differently than most of our other applications. When you scan a barcode on a media item to add it to our Media software, Media accesses the Internet to look up information on the media item based on the UPC/ISBN number. There is no global database for everything in the world so Assets isn't able to look up information based on the UPC code. If an item has a UPC code, you can use it as a unique identifier in Assets, but the information on that item will need to be typed in.
